Did you heard before the Shanghai World Expo? If not, you don't have much knowledge! No, just kidding. If you don't, check it on the web, but you should have at least heard of it or see them on buses.(that’s a rare case) So, moving on.
Well I visited it during last year June holidays. I went to Expo for 3 days, on(if I remember correctly) 8/6/10, 10/6/10 and on 18/6/10. If you notice the dates are 'special', good for you.(8/6 + 10/6 =18/6) I would only be writing what happened on the first day or else it will be too long and you will get bored or wouldn't even start reading! Here the story goes...
We arrived outside of the entrance(maybe a few 100 metres from the entrance) around !(for me considered early) It was tightly packed.(of course) Like the entrance to watch a YOG football match, we were checked by the security officers for any dangerous weapons. As I'm half otaku(if you have read Joel's blog, you should know. I swear I'm not advertising Joel's blog. Anyway, it means anyone who is crazy about anime and stuffs like that.), I queue up for the Japan Pavilion.
It turns out to be a bad idea. Anyway, too bad I didn't notice. Since the security guards didn't allow us to bring water into the Expo site, and I didn't fill up my bottle, I ended up queuing for 2 hours without water and another 3 hours with water! The exhibitions lasted for an hour. It shows the high technology and culture of Japan. I also visited other pavilions like Laos pavilion, Malaysia pavilion, etc. I overheard that the queue would be much lesser if it was at night. The most 'interesting' one is the Saudi Arabia pavilion. I started queuing since . It was the longest queue even though the time is close to dinner time. I heard that people could not queue for the pavilion after Could you imagine how long was the queue? Until , I could finally see the pavilion. I heard from my parents that, it is one of the pavilion that cost a lot to build. Luckily we brought a small stool to sit, as we need to stand for 5 hours! The line was always moving, so we could really have a good sit. Around , my battery for DS(A.K.A'double screen') was flat! I have nothing to do. So, I waited in the line for another hour, and it was our turn! There was an elevator in it that sent us on to a transmission belt. There was an 'illusion'. It lasted for only 12mins. I would not consider it very entertaining as there was nothing much. Well, that was only the first day at Expo. Hope that you are not bored. Hope that you enjoyed reading!
